Our younger generations will achieve their full potential, talent and creativity and have the confidence and capacity for hard work so that they can orbit between two worlds and enjoy the best of both.

MULTILIT in Cape York Schools

MULTILIT in Cape York Schools is designed to embed sustainable high quality literacy instruction across a school and improve student literacy outcomes.

MULTILIT in Cape York Schools is a partnership project between the Every Child is Special program and Macquarie University's MULTILIT.

MULTILIT is a proven form of literacy instruction for low progress students.

MULTILIT in Cape York Schools establishes a MULTILIT tutorial centre in a school to develop sustainable quality literacy teaching. Activity involves training quality MULTILIT teachers, providing direct support to low progress readers, embedding the MULTILIT methodology in regular classrooms, and operating a reading club for parents to read with their child and engage in their learning.

Objectives

  • Close the literacy achievement gap of Indigenous students
  • Embed MULTILIT literacy instruction within the school: teachers provide effective literacy teaching to all students
  • Engage families and communities in the effort to make all students fully literate
This initiative is designed, developed and delivered by Cape York Partnerships and MULTILIT.
